Giles & Kendall, the producer of CedarSafe products, exclusively manufactures products made of 100% Aromatic Eastern Redcedar.  Giles & Kendall and its predecessors have produced cedar products for over 100 years.  All products are manufactured in the USA in our Huntsville, Alabama and Gainesville, Missouri manufacturing plants, from Aromatic Eastern Redcedar trees harvested in the USA. We at CedarSafe are conscious of the need to avoid damage to the environment.  To accomplish this end, CedarSafe uses 100% of the Aromatic Eastern Redcedar tree as follows:

• The interior of the logs provide the material to produce the tongue and groove planks.

• The smaller ends of logs are used to provide the flakes for the flakeboard panels.

• The sawdust and downfall from the production process is used to make cedar oil.

• The outside slabs and bark are turned into mulch and returned to the environment.
  
  
• After the oil is removed from the sawdust and production downfall, this sawdust is burned in a steam boiler to generate energy for the production process.  This energy production is carbon neutral and generates no greenhouse gases.

With the products that are made by CedarSafe and the production methods employed, Cedarsafe eliminates waste and fully utilizes the resource provided by the Aromatic Eastern Redcedar tree.
